Robert Heinlein is a bit of jerk since during WWII early 1940s Robert Heinlein advocated genocide and at a Hugo or Nebula Awards writer Jeanette Ng has commentary about politically correct villainy of early 1940s WWII .
Jerry Pournelle is a much better writer since as a NASA engineer he has published bold optimism of "Endless Frontier" .
Did you ever read anything by Caldwell and Cowley or art books by Paper Tiger Ltd. since when I was kid comic books were considered uncouth in the shadow of Fedric Wertham?
Still "Jack Kirby" machinery is detailed as are some Manga and Manwha comics worth a read.
